Does anyone else notice that these songs sound sort of similar in parts? The entire songs sound different of course, but parts of them sound similar to me.

Just an observation,

Yeah, I wasn't trying to sound like I was saying that Tim ripped himself off or anything with OffSpring and You Are My Sanity, I just noticed that one small part of them sounded similiar, though I'm sure they are in totally different keys, etc...

Really though, being a songwriter, you probably can't help but have a few of your songs sound similar, especially when you have as many songs as Tim does! Its kind of cool when you write a couple songs that sound similar, because if youre a songwriter, youd want your songs to sound like YOUR songs wouldnt you, its better than them sounding like someone elses...because you cant sue yourself for copyright infringment. :-)

Though John Fogerty was sued for copying himself....

Only to a subtle extent are these songs mentioned slightly similar. I like to think of Offspring as a nice gentle song that one might hear on a Charlie Brown/Peanuts movie, does it not sound like that? Sanity is also a good song, I think High in the west also sounds like some other song, but I can't think of it's name. Yeargh. But rheginos and Jemez?

yeah, they are similar to an extent. Im also noticing that songs written in the same time span have similar sounds to them as well. Im always mixing up Reginos and Jemeze, and i always mix up Decline and Try a little Harder.
