JANUARY STICK NIGHT Los Angeles (1/16) SPRING TOURING
Hi Everyone,
I hope your New year is getting off to a great start. I've been working on some new arrangements and originals, and I'll start working them in this month. I'll be performing at the NAMM show in Los Angeles from Jan 16-19, and hosting a fabulous Stick Night at Molly Malone's in Los Angeles on the 16th (details below).
Not much else to report. As world tempers may flare and things get more uncertain, don't forget to take time to be still and listen to some music that really speaks to you.
Peace. Greg
JANUARY STICK NIGHT
Los Angeles, CA (Thursday 1/16) - Molly Malone's 7:30-12:30
I'll be hosting (and performing in) this five-hour multi-Stick extravaganza during the January NAMM show. Confirmed performers include Emmett Chapman (LA), Agent 22 (San Diego), Sizemo (San Francisco), Steve Adelson (New York), Bob Culbertson (San Jose), Don Schiff (LA) Third Door Down (Lancaster, CA), Jim Reilly (BC), Vance Gloster (LA) and Kevin Keith (LA). Tickets will be $10 at the door only. Molly's has a newly rennovated performance space with a great sound. Molly's website is:

SPRING TOURING
I'll be out in the middle of the country in late February and early March, opening up for the amazing Tim Reynolds in Colorado and playing a few shows on the way there and back. More details next month.
--------------- That's it for now. As always, thanks for supporting live music and independent musicians!
Happy Listening, Greg http://www.greghoward.com

Hi Everyone,
I know it's been a while since you heard from me. Big changes in my life have meant much less performing, but I'm still making music and enjoying it more in some ways.
To begin with, Joyce and I adopted two kids in October, so I'm home now, doing PR work for Stick Enterprises and not touring for the forseeable future.
but... for those of you in the Charlottesville area, I do have a show on Friday June 13, with percussionist Darrell Rose's International Counselors at Fellini's , just off the downtown mall. This is a really fun and energetic band.
details here:

If you're out and about that night, please stop by, and bring some comfy clothes as "there might be some dancin'"
I've also put up a youTube Page: http://www.youtube.com/gregplaysthestick
and a MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/gregplaysthestick
in case you want to chek out some videos and my music is still available from amazon.com, CD baby and Stick Enterprises.
That's it for now. Thanks for supporting live music!
If you'd like to be removed from this newsletter for whatever reason, just let me know.
Best Regards, Greg Howard |

Hi Everyone. I know it's been a while since I've written, so I thought I'd fill you in on some recent developments.
First off, thanks to all of you who have picked up the Ether Ore CD/DVD. For such an unusual recording, it continues to generate much more interest than I expected. The bonus video is now featured in a smaller res version on Stick Enterprises new online videos section of their website, along with lots of other vidoes by Stick players from around the world.
Here's the news:
STICK CONCERT IN CHARLOTTESVILLE THIS SUNDAY, NOV 5
In conjunction with the seminar I'm teaching this weekend, there will be a Stick Night concert at Gravity Lounge in Charlottesville on Sunday from 7-9 pm. Joining me will be Jim Meyer from Vancouver, Dave Brosky form Pittsburgh, Paul Walters from Richmond, Rob Martino from Fredericksburg and Vijith Assar from Charlottesville. It's only $5, which works out to less than ten cents a string....more at: Gravity Lounge Website
OFF TO JAPAN
I'll also be heading to Tokyo for a few days, to give an in-store clinic for Ishibashi Music and a concert on the weekend of Nov 18-19. Read all about it, in Japanese, here: Greg does Tokyo
HOLIDAY CD DEALS
It's that time again, and I would love nothing more than for you to give my music as a holiday gift.
Please write and tell me what you'd ike to get and I'll make you an outrageously good deal.
You can find all of the titles here: Greg's releases
Well, that's about it for now. I hope you're all doing well, and that peace finds you wherever you are in the world.
Thanks for supporting independent music and musicians. Greg http://www.greghoward.com/ |

Posted - 01/14/2003 : 04:37:13 AM Thanks Fluffy! That Friday was a typo. I know it's on Thursday. For some reason, my hands wanted to type Friday.
Anyway, Greg should, hopefully, remember me. I was going to interview him at Stick Night last year. Just mention me as the guy from the college radio station out here in LA.
Anyway, thanks again! If Greg can't do anything, I'm going to try and use an old trick that I picked up..."Hi, I'm with KCGR radio. We'd like to do a story on Stick Night. We're sending a representitive w/ an audio recording device." etc...Works for a lot of things. |

Posted - 01/14/2003 : 03:09:20 AM Hey Zak, it doesn't say anything about 21+ on their website for the gig at Molly Malones, but I did want to point out that it is on THURSDAY the 16th, not FRIDAY!! Don't miss it. I will try and call Greg Howard and mention you to him, maybe there is something he can do if you have to be 21. |

Posted - 01/13/2003 : 05:02:54 AM Anyone here going to Stick Night this Friday? I'll be there, hopefully, if they let me in. Last time I went to go see Greg at Molly Malone's, they said I have to be 21. Well, I'll be 21 exactly one month from Friday, so hopefully I can do some sweet talking if I have to... |
