First of all, I got engaged last night! It was my girlfriend's birthday, and the last present she got of the night was an engagement ring. I'm so happy and I can't wait for her to be my wife.

In other news, my Avante Acoustic Baritone was shipped yesterday as well, and I should get it Wednesday. This is turning out to be a great week.

I'm also performing one song (DMB's The Stone) at a talent competition at my workplace, wish me luck!

I'm glad to hear there are still companies who put customers first. Keep up the good work!

I actually answer questions on people's retirement plans, do fund transfers, and help people to save for retirement. I'm pretty much customer service, but it's so much different and better than any other job I've had. There are no sales, no time limit on calls (a lot of call centers don't want you to be on the phone longer than 3 minutes), they don't care if you take 30 or 90 calls in a day, and its a very laid back atomosphere. The companies number one concern is answering the participants questions fully and correctly, not getting them off the phone as quick as possible. I've only been there since January, but I love it.

My fiance works in the 5500 division. The 5500 is the tax reporting form companies need to file for their retirement plan.

We haven't set a date yet. We're thinking fall of next year.

I actually placed 1st in the talent show. I was the only one playing and singing. There was some karoke, and a couple stand up comedian wannabes...It was a loose interpretation of Star Search. The judges were this local cheerleading squad, and they couldn't raise the "4" stars fast enough when I was done. I won $20 in gift certificates to Dairy Queen. It seems like a lame prize but I live literally 2 minutes from one so it's not bad. Plus the 99% of my co workers that don't know that I play and sing got to see the other side of me. The competition was part of this BBQ that my company was having as part of our Employee Appreciation week. My fiance actually works the same place I do, so we were the hit of the party between our fresh engagement and my winning the competition.
