Posted - 04/28/2007 : 11:59:19 AM Hey Dave, I thought this review of your opener on May 3nd is way cool, both by having your name there next to TR's but also the great comments they made about TR. (killer riffs and spooling rock!)Amen!
Tim Reynolds with Special Guests Dave Cahill and Swati May 03, 2007 Although Tim Reynolds is best known for his collaborations with Dave Matthews having performed as a guest musician on all Dave Matthews Band releases thus far and having joined DMB on countless tours across the globe (Tim and Dave Matthews released the double-disc album Live at Luther College in January 1999), this profoundly talented guitarist has been cutting killer riffs and spooling rock & roll with funk and soul since the age of 12. Throughout the ‘90s, Tim slowly became recognized as one of the impeccable, highly skilled acoustic musicians in the areas of jazz guitar, bass, piano, sitar, mandolin, violin, and various instruments of ethnic percussion. He is an underrated master.

Posted - 04/19/2007 : 8:04:05 PM i think it largely depends on the author. milton admitted in areopagitica that his prose was not as good as his poetry, and that political writings of that type were necessary but not art, and so he was writing with one hand "tied behind my back." and milton's prose is fucking pain to read. but his sonnets and especially paradise lost are all awesome. |

No..I meant Dave's impotent. Yeah, that was it. |

I heard a really good quote about prose vs poetry the other day; I just wish I could remember it.
I went back and looked; it was on the April 21, 2006, podcast of This is Audible (I'm a little behind on my listening...) Billy Collins, former U.S. poet laureate, and Garrison Keillor both had poetry anthologies published last year, so the program was called "Duelling Anthologists."
There is a section early in the program in which they have a wonderfully witty repartee in which they praise poetry and belittle novels and prose. In the end, Billy Collins sums it up by saying, "Poetry is a bird and prose is a potato."
If you have any desire to download it, visit Audible.com.
Sorry to be way off topic, but I just felt like sharing.
Way cool on the gig, though, Dave; I wish I could be there, but I can only afford to get back to the States a couple of times a year, and this year it's being dictated by the wedding dates of friends and cousins. |

Posted - 04/19/2007 : 09:53:01 AM I did one other show and I was nervous. The crowd was cool but I am really REALLY looking fowarfd to this one. The room seems to be a lot more relaxed. |

Posted - 04/19/2007 : 09:33:33 AM By far my TR gigs have been the most relaxed as well as well-received by the crowd involved. I get the impression it's not a first for you but nonetheless, congrats! See you in w00tsville! |

Posted - 03/09/2007 : 8:33:03 PM Well, I recently bought a Martin DCM which I am very happy with; but I am on a trip out to the Pac NW, and while in Portland, OR I played a Simon & Patrick Cedar 6 String with a cutaway, and the damn thing played as well if not better than the Martin. Had to buy it. The guy who works there, Johnny, was very nice and gave me a free hardshell case with the purchase and gave me a free Artichoke Music T-shirt (that's the store). It was $520 all told. No electronics, unfortuntely, but I will have a pickup installed when I get home.
The guitar can be seen here.

Posted - 03/09/2007 : 2:40:06 PM A party in a house that fits 4 people won't be much fun, will it? I'll be eating some dead fish for lunch, incidentally.
The guitar I bought plays like a motherfucker, BTW. |

Glad I am not the only one, ya know what they say, misery loves company! I really could have used your help tonight Ben, I think I blew the test. I know I blew one of the short answers and I forgot things on both the essays so I don't know what he will take off for them. On the long drive home I kept remembering what I forgot to write down! Arggggggg!!!!!! I will be happy if I get a C on the test, seriously, I will be VERY HAPPY if I get a C!
OK, back to topic......yeah Dave! Wish I could make that show! Any chance you will open for Tim at the North Star in Philly? Please say yes! |
