First let me welcome our newest member Janet. Janet is a representative of a new DMB message board that seems to quite nice. I know alot of you used to be members of alot of different DMB message boards and became disillusioned for one reason or another and left so I wanted to post a link to this new one so you guys could check it out and see if it might be more to your liking. From what I have seen it doesn't seem to have the problems that I have heard from all of you about the other message boards and they are very TR friendly. In fact I discovered them thru an invitation from one of their moderators who emailed me asking if I would like to post TR's TouR info on their message board as well. I checked it out and signed up and posted. I was immediately welcomed by Janet and here is the message she sent me:
quote:
Excellent! We all love TR.

We're a new, small site, but we're hoping to grow and maybe your posting here will draw more users, all those hard core Tim fans. We'll have to make a TR forum.

I would also like to ask you if it be ok to put the link to timreynolds.com on our new links page that I will be implementing soon?

Peace,
Janet

See what I mean? "let's make a TR forum" on a DMB message board. Quite a different response than I get from alot of the other DMB message boards. No, "why are you posting this here" messages. YEAH!! They want to link TR's homepage on their links page. Seem like a nice bunch of like-minded folks. Please check it out and see if you might actually rediscover a place to discuss your love of DMB and T&D where the vibe isn't as oppressive as some of your past DMB message board experiences. I knew there had to be more DMB fans like yourselves who appreciate TR as well and not just as an accessory to Dave. I would like to thank them for their invitation, their warm welcome and then their kind offer to make TR an integral part of their DMB message board. Please take a minute and check it out and see if you can see yourself as a member of this new community. Here is a link to their site:

Thank you teri, Keepin' the peeps spellin' corrctly I believe the word leary could also be used in this context, no? I'm really exited after reading the show reviews for TR, he so desrves to be recognized for his own genius. It sounds like it was an amazing and fun tour with DM. It's nice to see another board welcoming him and his task force. It's all good.Peace, Robin

DMB boards, and fans even, also make me weary on occasion. I think in this case, however, you mean wary...
quote:
weary -- 1. Physically or mentally fatigued. 2. Expressive of or prompted by fatigue: a weary smile. 3. Having one's interest, forbearance, or indulgence worn out: weary of delays. 4. Causing fatigue; tiresome: a weary wait.

quote:
wary -- 1. On guard; watchful: taught to be wary of strangers. 2. Characterized by caution: a wary glance at the black clouds.

I am still weary about joining another dmb board. Nothing to do with Tim, but that they all eventualy turn on me, eventualy constant mocking me, and such. You guys have a go at it, I am very weary about dmb boards.

A first for a DMB board.

Wow, thanks for the nice welcome and thanks, Fluffy, for the awesome introduction and plug! That moderator was Nate (OneSweetMonkey). He's a hardcore Tim fan.

Regarding timreynolds.com, it's nice to see someone like Tim get all this love! He has the nerve to be brilliant all on his own without being permanently attached to a famous band. haha! Finally, hope for the underdogs. (Danny Gatton, RIP )

Thanks again, everyone, and welcome to anyone who would like to join us.

Peace
Janet

I've met cool people and shitheads at both TR and DMB concerts. Regardless, this board sounds really cool. I hope it flourishes.

I've met some huge fucking pricks at TR shows...
GuitarGuy305 Posted - 03/30/2007 : 6:17:39 PM
I have met some really, really cool people at DMB shows. I have also met some huge fucking pricks at DMB shows. But, I think that those people would be pricks no matter where they were, and I by no means hold it against the DMB fanbase (which I am a part of).

Most DMB fans that I know recognize Tim's talent and virtuosity. Some people I see online think he's all speed and "ruins" songs, which is a shame. But I welcome this new member of our board, and I'm heading over to check out that new DMB board right now!

that's cool. it's good to see that sort thing. i sense trouble, though. almost every time a dmb member comes onto this board, people give them shit. my concern is there will be a lot of friction bewteen some members of this board and dmb fans. i think that some folks here resent dmb and tim reynolds' history and association with them. i also think that they can't get by a the dmb fan stereotype.

That is very kewl, and a good thing for TR as well. Peace, Robin
