I have devised a theory, that I haven't heard on the air or news yet, which doesn't surprise me, that the fourth and final flight that was hijacked today, the one that was leaving from Newark New Jersey, that crashed in Pennsylvania, was shot down by the military.
Now you may disspute all you want, but review the facts. Three planes have already made crash attacks on economic and military bases, and now one is flying towards Camp David. After repeated attempts from Air Traffic controllers telling whoever is in the cockpit to turn around, it appears they aren't. Could you give the order to have the plane shot down, with I believe 88 citizens, four flight attendents, and two captains on board? Or if you were the pilot of one of the planes and you were still in control heading towards the WTC, would you divert into the water and crash it?
I hope we could all answer yes to those questions, but we have the benefit of hindsight, and never being in those situations. |

They are now saying the plane was headed for DC and witnesses say it was a deliberate turn and plunge for the plane indicating to me that it was probably a struggle in the cockpit and the pilot took it down to save more innocent lives. I am sure since the other 3 had already hit their targets he was probably fully aware that they were next and was not going to let that happen. God bless all of us especially those directly affected. May we hope that the worst is over.

Yeah the fact that that one deviated from its flight path so much later than the other 2 and the fact that it simply crashed into a field I think suggests that the passengers or the pilots fought back. You can bet even knowing that it was full of terrorists and on its way to destroy some iconic building, shooting it down would've been their last resort.

After watching the news this morning ( and all day yesterday) I am still in shock that these mentally derranged animals were capable of this mass devastation, destuction and no respect for human life. I strongly feel that the passengers gave up their lives in an attempt to save thousands of innocent people. They are heroes... My heart goes out to all the victims involved and I pray this madness will stop. Liz

Arthen, let me tell you what I think happened on the flight you mentioned.
The hijackers took over. Their pilots took control. Then, while their pilots were flying, the rugby player[s] in first class overtook the hijacker pilot's counterparts in the main part of the plane. And when the hijackers (minus the pilot) were subdued (read: killed) and the rugby players had retaken the plane, they entered the cabin of the plane and the hijacker pilot had only two choices.
He (the hijacker pilot) basically two choices: He could (1) not crash the plane and allow the rugby players to kill him, thus allowing the possibility that they might land the plane, saving some people and then identify the people responsible or (2) crash the plane, thus killing some people, yet not meeting his goal (crashing into something much more full of people and much more important). So he chose to kill the people that he could *definately* kill, and ran the plane directly into the ground at 600 miles per hour.
But that's just my opinion.

The families of the people on board the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, are going to recieve the Presidential medal of freedom. The highest award a civilian can recieve. Its like the Congressional Medal of Honor to a non-military person. I think thats pretty cool.
