Yeah, so the other day at work I had a customer come up to me saying that she was looking for acoustic Latin/classical guitar cds... so I go show her some cds like Segovia, Paco Delucia, Al Dimeoli ect... and while I show her those she mentions to me that she would really be willing to get anything that is good acoustic guitar, so I say "wait right here" and I run and grab a copy of STREAM (one of the 2 TR cds that we had in stock) and showed it to her, and it ended up being the only thing she bought!!! TR TASK FORCE IN FULL EFFECT at Virgin Megastore.

Thats AWESOME Kevin!!! As for the working in the music store thing, I am sure Kevin will back me up on this, Yes, you get a discount but you still end up spending just as much, in fact, I find I probably spend more than I would if I didn't work there. So it really doesn't SAVE you money, it just allows you to get more for your buck, hehe.

Fluffy, I know exactly what you mean. Being surrounded by music simply means more cds yelling at you "buy me". The most common things that happen to me are 1: I'll be going through the new releases, prepping them for sale, and I'll come across a cd from an artist I love, or maybe a remaster or reissue that I didnt here about, them BOOM, I have to have it. 2: working at a music store exposes you to all kinds of new music. It's very common for one of my coworkers to play something in the store I have never heard but end up liking and wanting to buy, so yes I completely agree with you Fluffy.

So, SEE, thinking working in a music store will save you money is a popular misconception. It may save you money on the individual CD, BUT you end up buying lots more, so you really don't SAVE money working there. hehe

MEE TOO! Thats why I still work at one. I am not complaining, just trying to inform the masses about a popular misconception. Until you have worked in one, you just don't understand. hehe

I love putting TR on my setlists at work! Because I am catoring to a mostly college crowd, instrumental doesn't always fly over too well, so sometimes I'll do some TR+DM... but still... TR is a huge hit... in fact, he's the only instrumental I've put on that anybody really got into... and just yesterday after class somebody asked me about "Instead of Thinking, The Seal Barked"... so that was awesome!

I've been meaning to post this for a while now, but after I sold that one copy of stream, our buyer saw that it sold, and decided to send us 2 more copies instead of the normal one replacement. I just thought that was awesome. Hopefully those will sell too, and we will have a sweet little TR section at the store in not too long. Chaos View will definately be the next cd on my employee recommendation post next week.

I sold another copy of STREAM last night at work. This lady came in looking totally lost and said "I need help". I was the closest to her so I asked what she needed. She said her husband was a big fan of acoustic guitar and she wanted to get him something new to listen to, so I showed her directly to the TR section, and she took my advice and bought Stream! That's 2 copies sold off my reccomendations alone!!! I'm proud of myself. I hope the husband digs it.

It seems that we sold out of our second shipment of Stream as well, so I took this information to my store manager, and told him that we need to be carrying other TR titles as well, since they are selling, so I got him to order Nomadic Wavelength, and Gossip of the Neurons, hopefully we will be carrying all TR titles soon.

Didn't they say they were going to release the latest Offering Show as an album? Any word on that Pam or Kevin, or anyone?

Arthen, I will have to get back to you on that one. I think the Offering show is all finished (having been mixed etc) but has to be pressed out yet. I think it will be available soon, I will find out for sure.
The new Soko CD that is being worked on will feature a new drummer. Johnny had so many other commitments and wasn't available to do the new album. This new guy is young and a killer drummer. Houston, Mike and the new drummer William are now Soko. There are other artists on the album, much like In November Sunlight, and it is my feeling that this will be a most amazing CD! I really can't wait for its release! |

All companies trow in thow in that discount thing...it's a scam I tell ya!
Except when I worked at Ann Taylor. You got a 40% discount, even on sale items. So I would end up getting 300 sweaters for like 20 bucks. But other then that rare example, I have never ended up getting the upper hand on that one.
I had a friend who used to work for ticketmaster. He got to get tickets for all of the shows before they went on sale. Now that is a decent perk.
Okay, I'm babbling.
