I give batman a 9.5 out of 10. It was GREAT! Heath Ledger was perfect. I loved Jack Nicholson as the Joker, but Heath Ledger was phenomenal. Harvey Dent was perfect, everything was. The only reason why I didn't give it a 10/10 was because I wanted more Heath Ledger. I know what I am dressing up for Halloween this year . . . HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

As for X-Files, I am praying it is going to be good. I loved the show, and I loved the first movie. Seeing as this is from Chris Carter (the creator of the X-Files), it most likely will be good.

So far I have seen 2 out of my must see movies this year, Indy and Batman (both I loved, say what you want about Indy but I loved it!). Now we have X-Files and 007.

it's not that good.

batman, though, was awesome. i'm waiting for a picture of a kitten with joker make-up on, with the caption "y so cerius?"

Batman was easily the best comic book movie ever made. Ledger was perfect and it's unfortunate that they'll just have to write the Joker out of the third movie. Which villan will be next? Riddler?

As for the X-Files I'll be seeing it tomorrow. Ebert gave it 3.5 out of 4 stars, so I'm pretty hopeful about it. I, too, am a huge fan of the series. Every Friday night I remember watched it as a kid. My roommate and I just watched the first six seasons (with the film) this past year in anticipation.

Yep, Dark Night was outstanding. I can't believe that a movie called "Batman" could possibly be such an engrossing character study.

I'm seeing batman thurs at an IMAX...very excited. Just saw step brothers; best movie Will Ferrell's done in a long time...I'd compare it with Wedding Crashers/Old School quality ;)

yeah, xfiles "movie" was really an episode that shouldve only been 40 miuntes with commercials. so sad.

and it's sad to think people can make jokes about child molestation like they did in this movie. i dont find it funny or humorous.

and heath ledger, i had my doubts but damn he really pulled it off. i would say the best role of his short career and villain to act in batman.

They are talking about doing the Riddler in the next. Christopher Nolan, however, is not committing himself to the movie. He says he doesn't want to decide about doing it at the moment. Christian Bale wants to be Batman again, and Michael Cane as Alfred. I am sure the guy who played Gordon will be back. I will miss Morgan Freeman, though.

Now, the person who has said he wants to play the Riddler . . . David Tennant! If you don't know him, he is currently playing the Doctor (the tenth one) on the revived Doctor Who series. I think that is promising.

Now, I saw the X-Files last night. I liked it. It felt like a 2 hour version of the series, and that's what I expected. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny were perfect back in their roles. I also didn't really find them really making jokes about child molestation in the movie. Also, just like the series, they don't give you a straight answer at the end. It makes you think. I wouldn't mind seeing it again on dvd.

As far as I had heard Bale, Caine, and Oldman had signed up for three films originally.

And for the X-Files I thoroughly enjoyed it. After watching it I went on Metacritic and read up on the reviews and was surprised. I feel like everyone was expecting the movie to exist as if it were in the middle of season three or four, which I feel is an unfair expectation. I read things about how Duchovny and Anderson seemed tired and not committed to the pursuit of the "truth." But I thought that was rather the point. Time has passed for the two characters. I thought the story was appropriately convoluted (as most X-Files related things are) but grounded enough to make it highly suspenseful and creepy. Parts like involving the "tubes" made me cringe. It also provided a fair portrait of our heroes and their relationship and their individual lives and pursuits. I feel Roger Ebert's review hit the nail on the head.

I also found it funny when Skully opened up the door, and there was a hunched over mad man type looking guy with newspapers everywhere . . . oh wait, it's just Mulder! For a second I wondered if he went mad or something, and then I remembered his office from the series . . . he is mad.

Two little tidbits: First, did you notice they were "together" yet they still called each other by their last names? Second, when Mulder was looking who to call in his cell phone, Gillian Anderson was one of the numbers in there.

Actually it said Gilligan who was one of the producers I believe? The other name next to it was also a producer's or some staff person's name.
