Has everyone heard this new song off Big Whiskey? I got it from the iTunes pass and let me tell you IT IS ALL TIM REYNOLDS!!! I can hear him playing at least 3 different guitars, maybe even that sitar everyone is talking about. Also in the history of Tim playing on DMB albums I can't think of a more beautiful acoustic guitar solo in one of the songs. The lyrics are soso but for me DMB has always been about the music, not the lyrics, and this song is great. I love that Tim is getting a chance to shine. I wonder if they play this song live if Tim will play acoustic since it is an acoustic song.

Weird! I just listened to that song for the first time and was really happy to hear TR all over it. The slide work was great! I look forward to listening to that song again, if nothing else.

Steve Hackett: "I'm my own opening act, you see."
Tim (before "Faceoff"): "Peace, love....and SEX!"

I think it's a beautiful song. Tim's parts are all great and the vocal harmonies on it remind me a lot of Simon & Garfunkel in some places. I agree about the lyrics, but I really love the music.

I've read a few places that Tim plays sitar on this song but I just don't hear it. I hear acoustic slide work but that's it. I thought Tim told someone at the Fur Peace Ranch that the final CD did not have his sitar stuff on it.

This will be the first DMB album I've ever purchased. I've enjoyed everything that I've heard so far.

He recorded some sitar parts in the studio, but they didn't end up making it on the final cut of the album. I've seen some people on DMB message boards saying that they hear a sitar, but they really just can't tell the difference between a slide on an acoustic guitar and a sitar, apparently.

I think I do hear a sitar, but very basic one note accents here and there. I guess we'll have to wait for the liner notes. Nonetheless that acoustic solo is still just amazing.

Well I guess I got the answer to my question, no TR acoustic on the live version.

I wondered if he'd play acoustic on this live. Can't say I'm surprised he doesn't since he's never played acoustic at a DMB show. Still a kick ass song.

I love this song, and Tim's acoustic solo on the album is just perfect. I don't think there is any sitar on the album at all.
