Ah Jay....I knew there would be someone my age on the boards...hehehe.

Oh, that's your age when you're smoking up.....damn!

My b'day Aug 24 (I no longer celebrate them!)

I know a couple of places they mentioned band names....always thought Centrifugal Force would be good.....is that because there is already a band with that name? Probably.

Hey PJK, I think I meant for you to read PAGE 1 of this thread. I think you will find it much more interesting.

As for Centrifugal Force as a band name, I don't know of any, but I can't imagine someone hasn't used it at some point. After an exhaustive search, I have discovered no band call Centrifugal Force on the internet. Guess there could still be one out there that the internet doesn't know about, but I bet that is highly unlikely.

Yes Fluffy, I read both pages.....and I feel EXTREMELY old!!!! But, I did find it all very interesting.

And you sir are a particularly interesting guy! From info. here and things you say on other threads you just blow me away!

Don't know which post I read but you said the number of records and cds you have and I was just wondering, do you have them in some kind of order? I don't have anywhere near the collection you do and I know for whatever reason I will want to hear a particular song and I get frustrated if I can't find it.

Hey are you a Virgo too???? Maybe that expains the love of lists!hehehe

Sept 22nd, right on the cusp of Libra and Virgo, but I don't think I show much Libra. I am DEFINITELY Virgo. I am an anal-retentive, organized, list-lover.

My records and CD's are all boxed up right now from my move. I keep them in alphabetical order when they are displayed. There do arise some quirks as evidenced by scenes in the movie High Fidelity. That guy and his record collection are much like me and my record collection. HEHE

Yes, I would definitely agree that you have the "wise" thing down solid. You have much wisdom....that's for sure.

For me the more I learn, the more I find I don't know. I don't think I have much wisdom in fact I feel a lack of it.

I think I have a good bit of wisdom, but it is knowledge I am lacking and always trying to acquire. I know just what you mean about the more you learn, the less you find out you know. But finding out is a good thing, that is how you learn. Never stop learning, just stop going to school. School SUCKS!! I have learned more on my own than they ever taught me in school. If I had kids I would definitely do the home schooling thing. Forget the propaganda tool they call school.

Names Zach surprising huh
I'm 20 soon to be drunk legally
I'm going to Lane Community in Eugene in aboot a month to study music so for now I live in Portland.
The Music is a long list but: Tim (of course) Vic Wooten, The Flecktones, Phish, The Dead, Jazz Mandolin Project, DMB, Joe Pass, Art Tatum, Ravi Shankar and his daughter Norah, Daroll Anger and Mike Marshall band, Psychograss, Anything Bach because he's the shit, Bob Marley, Beatles, Harry Nilsson, Lots of opera, lots of Jazz, Rachmoninoff, MMW, String Cheese, Fear Factory, that's enough the list keeps going.
Work is for suckers, no but I'm taking time off to pursue my dream of retirement, no I'm going to try and work at a guitar center when I head down to Eugene next month.
Fav Movies, Last of the Mohicans, The Doors, Scarface, Strange brew, many more good ones but that's enough.
Fav books, A peoples history of the United States, Effortless Mastery, Les Miserables, The Tao, Critique of pure reason, The Ralph Moody books, and many more.
Instuments Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Piano, starting banjo, and hopefully getting a sitar soon
Oh yeah and I'm soon to be a published poet (not bad for a poth heed)
And I am a really good Duck Hunt player on Pigeons anyway. I've broken 9 bones been on Real TV for this bike crash (my 15 minutes of fame).
Now you know as much about me as my own mother.

WOW, WOW & double WOW!! You have been on RealTV? I watch that show all the TIMe and I bet I have seen your bike accident. HEHE That show is one show I will live my whole life and hope I am NEVER on hehe.

So did anyone else notice the big news in Zachmovzack's post? He is huge "BACH" fan, maybe we could supply him with the mysterious TR pieces and he could finally name them for us. I think Erich or PJK would be the ones to ask about them zackmovzack. I seem to recall they were seriously struggling to name the pieces. TR performed them, but unfortunately no longer remembers the pieces. He thinks they were Bach but he learned them from a Segovia CD that he is no longer in possession of so the mystery has gone unresolved. Maybe you could suss out the pieces for everyone. I know they would be truly grateful if someone could name these pieces for them. Thanx for posting and look forward to more from you in the future. Once again, welcome aBOARD!!

PS:And do you have to know how to play SO MANY instruments? Just what we need, another super-talented musician around here. You guys are really starting to alienate me hehe LOL.

I'll do my best to identify the pieces but considering how bach wrote more music than any other composer in history I can't saythat I've heard them all. I do have some CD's of Christopher Parkening palying a lot of Bach. Parkening was a student of Segovia and considered the best Classical guitarist since Segovia. I however have only heard one calssical piece I think that reynolds perfomed which I downloaded from etree the 1992 show. It sounds familiar too. If someone tells me where to get the classical pieces in question I'll do my best to try to identify them although it may take some time since I download extremely slow 56k. If they were learned from a segovia CD than I could probably identify them as that was one thing I omitted from my musical list is that I listen to a lot of classical guitar as that's what I started playing all those years ago. Well actually I played piano first but I mean guitar wise. And about all the instuments I have not mastered them all or anything I just play them. I'm best at guitar and I'm okay on the bass, I use the mandolin to improvise with mostly as it is extremely easy to learn and what not since it's tuned in fifths unlike the guitar which is fourths and then the weird third on the g and b. Same with piano I usaully just play jazz and simple calssical but it's used best as a writing tool.
About the real TV my crash involved me trying to clear a 15 foot gap and then not making it so I face palnt into the dirt still holding on to the bike and I knock myself unconcious. My friend rolls me over and I cough up some blood as my eyes are rolling in the back of my head. The segment also involved my friends crashing and jumping stuff. It also was put on Max X and You gotta see this. It was a really cool tape and is fun to watch considering I almost broke my neck and died.

Fluffy I looked at the tab section to find out about the classical piece and the one in there is different from the piece I have or I'm playing it all wrong. However from my playing the tabbed piece sounds a lot like predule from cello suite #1. So my guess would be that it is something from the cello suite or that tim improvised on it heavily. Or I'm all wrong and it's just a similarly themed song with a similar sound. All the pull offs and stuff though make it sound like this prelude so much though. It's just phrased a little different and voiced different.

Okay I was completely wrong about the last post and the Prelude from the cello suite. I guess I should have played the bach piece before I posted cause after I did it sounded nothing like it. So I searched and found the piece in question but I can't figure out what it is. Sounds baroque but I don't know if it's Bach Robert Devise or what but I haven't given up and I will find out even if I have to listen to every bach piece written. Well maybe that's going to far. Next time I make a post though I won't cast such a guess. Although there are one or two similarities but there not as close as I thought.

Since this thread is soooo old I hate to see it die. So.... TTT.

I'll go ahead and spill a little about myself so I can feel like part of the TR family. First of all, I've been visiting this site since way back in the day before it was version 2.0 and before the blue background. My original screen name was Ken but I had forgotten the password to log in so I created Kenneth because I've felt the itch to post lately. Anyway.... here it goes:

Name: Ken or Kenneth. I don't really prefer Kenny so I can absolutely relate with TR and why he wouldn't prefer being called that other name that people call him.

Age: 27

B'day: 11/20/77

Location: Birmingham, AL

Work: UAB (University of Alabama at B'ham) I basically do financial work for the Dept of Surgery. Yea, it blows but it also pays bills.

Fav movies: This is a tough one; Kingpin, Office Space, Made, Swingers, Shawshank, Seven (even though I despise Brad Pitt), Pulp Fiction, and on and on and on.

Fav bands: Well besides TR; John Butler Trio, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, DMB, Led Zep, Jimi, SRV, Clapton, Our Lady Peace, yada, yada, yada...

Instruments: I've been playing guitar for around 12 years now. I have a Martin D-35, I'm proud to say I had this guitar before I knew TR played one. The D-35 is my lady and I have sex with her every night and it's great! I also have a Martin DM, Ovation Applause, Gibson Les Paul, and my most recent purchase was a Martin D12-28; and I did buy this one becuase of TR. The next 2 guitars I buy will be a Fender Strat and a Taylor 412ce but that will be on down the road.

Anway... I guess that's about it. Now that I've succesfully wasted a good 30 minutes here at work I guess it's time to get busy. I like to zone out for about an hour each morning when I get here but it looks like I'm working so it's ok.

I've never done this, so I guess I will. Even though I'm a kind of private person... You all know my name. I never got to having some clever one online because frankly, it has taken me this long in life to be o.k. with who I am, so why confuse things. My birthday is Feb. 10th. favorite color is blue most of the TIMe.
I lived a lot of my life in New England, and left for the West coast as soon as I was able. (It was too damn cold for far too long). I live in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains, with my thirteen year old son, two cats, and one adorable rabbit, and a goldfish.
I homeschool my son, while I work at finishing my internship in Homeopathy. I love to travel and I adore the sun, Kauai is my all TIMe favorite place to be.
My fave muscians are too numerous to name, but Chris Whitley and TIM are tops on the list. My favorite movies are Paris Texas and Whale Rider. I like all the Thin man movies too,and Monty Python...I like a lot of different stuff. I LOVE Horses and volunteer at Redwings Horse Sanctuary, in my not so spare TIMe.
I draw, paint, collage, and do beadwork when I can. My favorite artists change all the TIMe depending on my mood.
TIM Rew and Fluffy are some of the Kewlest people I've met, and I think this board has some of the most amazing people of any board I've visited.
That's it, and if you want to know something else( I can't imagine you would), you'll just have to meet at a show someTIMePeace, Robin

ha ha, thanks. In my opinion, the music that kids my age listen to is horrible. I remember when I was little, like 6, I knew every James Taylor song by heart. It is my dad's fault.

Ain't a damn thing wrong with that, girlfriend. I was the only 4th grader running to the house from the bus to listen to Revolver on vinyl, so I know what you're feeling.

Fuck it...here we go.

Name: Jared S. (my last name is retarded...and on my tabs)

Birthday: 3/26/81 (I don't celebrate, per se)

Location: New Jersey (the stanky-cowshit-rural-redneck-sandwiched between-bastions-of-consumerism-and-conservatism part)

Work: I work on swimming pools...and I get the winters off. So kiss it.

School: HS Grad, 2 Years College (if my memory serves me)

Movies: Waking Life, Bottle Rocket, Pi, The Big Lebowski

Music: Man alive, Goodchild, you give me the hinks!

Instruments: Apoopstik Guitar

I don't like violence. That's about it. I listen to Tim.

time for a little update on me:

As of last week i've been given way more responsibilities at work. (Now in charge of computers and warranties/repairs of all 6 stores) I don't have time to engage in the debate that I'd love to, especially on that "kill these people" thread. I'm still seriously considering the Dan vs. P-W podcasts if Dan's willing and knows anything about podcasting. The time that I do have now I'm focusing on a MMORPG based on Ultima 8 by Origin (owned by EA games). I'm basing it on the Pentagram mapviewer/remake and hopefully can even get some work done on it in the near future.

I'm probobly going to try to stop by and argue more, but stupid work gets in the way. I've been checking out the music mentioned here mostly. Working on that entire page of Knopfler right now.(http://www.knopfler.net/mp3/empetre.html) I hope it's legaly distributed.

I'm lucky if one person reads this one. I really just wanted to announce the game in a guerilla warefare style.. er marketing.. er.. GRENADE!!!

KING JESUS 500's are forever!

Two things (whoops, three things)

1. My dad's birthday is Nov 30th, funny coincidence.
2. The gorillaz must certainly rock, Demon Days was one of my favorite albums of 2005.
3. Good luck on the mission, where are you being sent?

Tim (before "Faceoff"): "Peace, love....and SEX!"
