It's getting cold. The trenchcoats and sweaters are coming out, the trees have shedded their leaves which only two weeks ago left us all in awe. The creeks are running clear, even after it rains and you can hear the crows picking apart some poor rodent on the road, murdered by a chunk of cheap steel hurdling past at 90 miles per hour. It's rut season, the deer are horny in the fields at night. The nights are freezing and you close your windows enough so that you can hear the wind without letting it in. Leaves cover the trails. You can see your neighbors now through the trees, they can see you. Mom's making potato soup at home and you have to pick up some bacon bits and green onions or else she'll kick your sorry, lazy ass out to the elements.

I fucking love this time of year, mostly because of Thanksgiving. Who doesn't agree?

Winter's the greatest. I'm practically the only person in my family who enjoys this time of year.

I just hope it snows this year... stupid Georgia.

Buffalo. Cold is an understatement. I have mixed emotions about winter. I do enjoy the first snowfall, but the early darkness really pisses me off. I mean, I'll leave work around 6 and it will be completely dark. That's just friggin depressing. Aside from that, the driving is atrocious, especially with a rear wheel drive V8. Maybe the Tim signature on the hood will somehow give me better traction.

I have to second Dan's comment about twilight in summer. God I love that, especially here where we have moderate summers. 76 degrees with a nice sunset and a cool breeze. God love it.

Although my home state of Minnesota gets cold, I live in Milwaukee for school. Minnesota has a snowy, brisk (or just plain cold as shit) winter that I enjoy. Milwaukee has poopy-brown snow and a constant grey sky winter. And then there's that lake effect, which here contributes to a giant wind tunnel down Wisconsin Avenue. So, while I'd say it's not colder here in Milwaukee, it is windier, which sucks. Thank God I don't have to live here for too many more winters.

upstate new york. not as brutal as ontario, which i can only imagine is a nightmare, but still it's a bitch. especially since i have absolutely no tolerance for cold. i had these earrings that gave me +5 defense to ice, but everyone kept making fun of them.

By 5:30 today it was almost pitch black, that's awful. Most of the time in the winter it's cold out but not so much that it's miserable and you can't leave your house.

Other odd days, it's so bitter cold your face feels like its going to crack.

Oh boy, I can't wait

Tim, come to Canada!

Yeah, I know all about lake effect. It dumps a good 3 feet of snow on my house every year...It's usually about 20-30 degrees any given day in the winter here...

I used to live in Erie, PA, and I'm all too familiar with the lake effect. When I moved I specifically looked for a place where it didn't snow.

So here I am in California.

I think the lowest has been 55 degrees over here in California. Now I know what you're thinking.....screw you and your warm weather. Very true. But what is really wierd is that it has gotten up to 75 during the day, meaning that all the warm clothing I put on earlier in the day becomes hot and irritating until around 6 PM.

I absolutely love the winter. You want to talk about brutal... try living in the desert for 7 damn years. I'll take negative tepms over 130 degrees any day. If you aren't sure what that feels like, try sticking a blow dryer in your face, and boom, you've got yourself a windy day in Indio, CA. If you are cold, there is usually always something you can do to warm yourself up. When it is hot, you are just stuck being sweaty, gross and miserable.
