when there's an unopen, unshaken bottle of champaign sitting kind of near your laptop, and it detonates for no fucking reason, spraying glass an liquid all over the goddamned room, and especially on my keyboard. not too much damage was done. i can use it if i take the battery out and plug the ac adaptor in. don't know how long that'll last. also, the letter d doesn't work now, but that's cool; i never talk about d&d or type my name or anything. i just copied an pasted the letter d, now all i have to do is hit ctrl v. excelsior! |

I've never really liked Champaign anyway. This should be a warning to everyone that the bubbly is not cool. Vodka nor rum has ever exploded on me. So are you going to try to get it fixed? |

well, i'm doing about 45 pages worth in papers for this week and next, and getting it fixed requires me to send it away for 15 days. i can't afford that kind of time. so i backed everything up just in case. it can wait until after the semester. |

The list of things under that category title always seems to expand exponentially this time of the year. Less than four weeks for me. |

last week of classes, then finals. my last one is the 7th, ostensibly. it's a pain in my ass. i only have a couple of actual finals, but i got a clusterfuck of papers, and shit to do with the school newpaper. my roommate has a long sword and a short sword right here in the room, and i'm thinking of jamming one of them down my throat. |

don't sweat it...give it a couple days to dry off and it should be ok. My friend got wasted an accidentally pissed on my laptop in a drunken black-out stupor. Three days later, I was able to get it to turn on long enough to get all of my files backed up. Let it dry! |

Sparkling mead is much better behaved. And tastes better. :) |

Dan, are you really in Uganda? If you were in the US, there are all kinds of wineries that make mead now. My favorite is in Missouri, but I don't live there anymore and the state-to-state laws prohibit me from having it shipped from there to here in VA. However, there are at least two wineries down in DMB-land, VA, that make mead. I'm going to drive down there soon to get some (about 1.5 hour drive). :)

nah, i'm not in uganda. i just closed my eyes and picked a place when i registered all those years ago. i'm actually in the northeast. either near albany, ny or in the berkshires, depending. and there's actually a place that carries mead not but 10 minutes from my home town. i haven't had occasion to buy any in a while, until just about now, because my father had a couple bottles, around 15 years old, just lying around. odin's mead, i think it was called. it was good. the honey really dominated the taste, though.
i considered making my own, but then i saw that it actually took effort, so. fuck that noise. |
